In Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Porsche, Germany’s smallest independent and the world’s most profitable automaker showcases its history in a museum that will simply take your breath away.

More than 80 automobile exhibits are on the display at the museum including Porsche’s original concept model that started it all. Museum visitors can also enjoy a shower at the museum – a sound shower that is, enabling visitors to hear and feel the legendary racing engine of the Porsche 911.

The museum’s architecture is just as advanced and dynamic as the Porsche automobile itself. The entire museum platform seems to hover above the ground, carried only by three enormous concrete beams.

After, during or before your visit, stop by the museum’s coffee bar to recharge your engines. For those running on empty enjoy a long drink at Porsche’s hip Christopherus restaurant bar.

Automobile enthusiast or not, the new Porsche Museum definitely takes the pole position in our list of recommended museums to visit while in Stuttgart.
